LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WXIX) - Eleven people are now confirmed dead following Tuesday’s catastrophic UPS plane crash , Gov. Andy Beshear announced.

Nearly 24 hours after the crash, the Kentucky governor announced the latest death toll, with one more victim’s death possibly imminent.

A young child could be among the dead, Gov. Beshear said.

Earlier Wednesday, Gov. Beshear said 16 different families have reported they have loved ones unaccounted for.

“Families are still waiting for information on their loved ones,” Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said.

Gov. Beshear said the search for possible survivors is now a recovery effort for dead victims.

UofL Health says they received 15 patients and that 13 of them have been discharged.
