Terrifying scenes have unfolded on a suburban street in Sydney’s southwest overnight after gunshots were heard.

Emergency services rushed to a property on Petunia Place in Macquarie Fields about 10.50pm on Wednesday following reports of shots being fired at a home.

Officers were told unknown people had allegedly fired “multiple shots” at a house before fleeing the scene.

No injuries were reported following the incident.

Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Officers are also investigating whether burnt-out cars discovered in nearby suburbs of Warwick Farm and Greenacre are linked to the shooting.
