Work is underway on the T.R. Gallo Park Electrical Restoration project in Kingston’s Rondout waterfront district, where crews are embarking on excavation of the park’s west side between the parking lot and Mariner’s Harbor. Contractors were hard at work Wednesday fencing off the construction zone and removing pavers.

The project will occasionally impact a small number of parking spaces when excavation reaches the parking lot. The city said construction is expected to last roughly 2–3 months.

The work is part of a larger, state-funded effort to modernize and protect waterfront electrical systems at Gallo Park from storms and floods.
