Newnan City Council member-elect Scott Berta outlined his views on growth, housing and the role of local government during a meeting of the Coweta Republican Alliance Monday evening.

The group, formed this fall, is a new grassroots group made up of local conservative activists seeking to increase transparency, unity and participation within Coweta’s Republican ranks.

The group is not affiliated with the official Coweta County Republican Party and plans to host candidate forums, promote voter education and support GOP nominees in general elections through 2026.

Berta currently serves as manager of industrial development for Electric Cities of Georgia, and previously worked with the Coweta County Development Authority as a project manager and GIS/site specialist, where he led environmenta
