BLAINE - Human remains have been found in the Aroostook County town of Blaine.
A local resident found them on October 30.
A spokesperson says Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit Detectives and Evidence Response Team members responded to the scene to investigate.
The remains were taken to the Medical Examiners Office in Augusta for examination and positive identification.
The spokesperson says that process can take some time.
No identification has been confirmed at this point.
The investigation is ongoing.
