DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - More than 500 kids went home from Arnett Hills Elementary School with a brand new pair of shoes on Wednesday.
They were surprised with the big news before starting class.
Each student from kindergarten to 5 th grade received a free pair from Nikes to Adidas, Reeboks and more.
It’s thanks to a partnership between the national nonprofit Shoes that Fit and My Brother’s Keeper - a foundation started by the NFL Edmunds Brothers.
It’s part of Terrell, Tremaine, and Trey Edmund’s mission to give back to the young people who are growing up where they did.
“We decided to do shoes that fit because our boys love shoes,” said Cookie Edmunds. “My thought process is, what child would not like a pair of shoes?”
The E-boys mom, Cookie Edmunds, is a gym teacher at Arnett
