Zohran Mamdani has been elected New York City’s next mayor , defeating former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa.
Mamdani was at 1% in the polls when he launched his campaign, but he ended up winning the race with more than 50% of the votes.
Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, joined “The Rush Hour” on Wednesday to break down the results of the election and what it could indicate about next year’s midterms.
