BURRVILLE, New York (WWNY) - Food insecurity is a growing concern for families across the country as the government shutdown continues.

Here in the North Country, local businesses and their surrounding communities are doing their part to make sure no one goes hungry.

Making pizzas is something Forrest Steiner has been doing for decades. He typically sells them at his business, Steiner’s General Store in Burrville.

But recently, he hasn’t been selling them; he’s been giving them away.

“Well, we felt that there’s obviously a need with everything that’s going on right now,” he said.
