A man disrupted an Islamic student group's event at the University of Houston by allegedly throwing the Quran into a fire, according to the student group.

In a post on Instagram, the University of Houston Muslim Students Association said they held a peaceful gathering at Lynn Eusan Park on Oct. 30. During a prayer, they say a man "entered our reserved space shouting anti-Islam hate through a megaphone and threw a copy of the Holy Qur'an into our event bonfire."
