TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - While Leon County Head Start programs have opened with the help of a $300,000 grant from the Children’s Services Council , Tallahassee faith leaders say more can be done.
Greg James, pastor at Life Church International, made a call to action on a radio show last week, urging his fellow pastors to step up for their community.
“So what if 1000 churches just allocated 50 dollars for the next two months,” James said.
His call led to “Project 1000″ where funds will go to the Tallahassee Urban League and then be donated to Head Start programs in Leon County.
