A Lowell woman is facing criminal charges in connection with the death of a 72-year-old pedestrian in the city late last month, officials said.
Channa Sath, 44, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing death in connection with the collision on Oct. 30 that killed Helene Renaud, of Lowell. Sath was arraigned in Lowell District Court on Tuesday, where a judge released her with the conditions that she surrender her passport, not drive, undergo alcohol testing and report to probation, said Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Greg Hudon in a joint statement.
