WATERBURY, Conn. — A Waterbury woman who worked as a personal care assistant was arrested last Friday and charged with billing Medicaid for personal care services while her client was out of the country.
The Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice announced Tuesday that Inspectors from the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney arrested 61-year-old Carmen Berroa on Oct. 31.
Berroa is charged with first-degree larceny by defrauding a public community and health insurance fraud.
She reportedly took approximately $13,153 for 243 dates of service she did not provide.
