SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Sevier County is asking the public to come in and tell them what hazards are impacting their specific neighborhoods, as federal funding could be riding on it.
While floods and wildfire get the headlines, it’s all kinds of dangers that impact Sevier County, and revising the plan is part of how you’ll get notifications.
“You know a real time stream monitoring of our local waterways, to where we’re able to know what the actual water level is, to be able to respond and close roads and notify the community of any potential flooding,” said Joe Ayers with Sevier County Emergency Management.
Sevier County is going through revising the plans they submit to FEMA. This whole thing could figure out how much money Sevier County can get.
