A police officer and a pedestrian were injured in a gunfight in Camden's Fairview neighborhood, authorities said.

The civilian, identified as 25-year-old Marques Jones, allegedly shot several times at an officer trying to stop him at Chesapeake and Congress roads at 10:50 p.m. Nov. 4, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.

The Camden County police officer was shot once in his left arm. A sergeant at the scene returned fire and struck Jones in his torso.
