Hours after being elected the city's first female mayor , Mary Sheffield received a call from someone who knows the difficult path to shattering glass ceilings: former Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
Sheffield said she and Harris, who served as the nation's first Black female vice president, talked on Wednesday afternoon for a "nice amount of time" about what the "next step looks like and how she can be supportive."
