Lethbridge Mayor Blaine Hyggen says it will take some time to review the entire scope of the proposed 2025 Federal Budget, including discussions with the municipality’s Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer, to see the full impact.

In a statement, Hyggen says as always, city council will continue to advocate for the supports residents need in the city to best serve citizens.

“We need to understand the details of the Build Community Strong Fund, but it is encouraging to see national commitments of $115 billion in infrastructure and $25 billion in homebuilding,” says Hyggen. “We are hopeful that Lethbridge will be seriously considered for a fair share of these funding allotments. Our city council and administration will look forward to working with the federal government in the coming weeks
