COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) - Second time’s the charm for Copperas Cove ISD as the voters approved a bond after denying one last year.
On the ballot there were 3 propositions making up a bond worth more than $165M.
Props A and B passed while Prop C, that would have provided an open-air pavilion for extracurricular activities at the high school, did not.
“That was put in place to try and give our kids more practice time because UIL has Wet Bulb restrictions because of heat,” said Dr. Brent Hawkins, Superintendent of Copperas Cove ISD at a press conference following the election, “Kids start to become limited to do certain things in practices.”
The partial approval of the bond will make massive improvements to several campuses but especially the high school.
