SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is urging community members to prioritize safety this holiday season amidst several recent DUII arrests. LCSO officials said their deputies remain committed to road safety, despite lacking a dedicated traffic team due to funding issues.

Several drivers were arrested in the last week for driving under the influence of intoxicants, with cases involving crashes that could have ended tragically. On Oct. 27, a traffic stop on Highway 126 led to the arrest of Landon Michael Hanks, 22, of Eugene, for DUII after signs of impairment were observed.

On Oct. 29, deputies responded to a crash on Durham Avenue, Eugene, where Dustin Hyen Loeschen, 46, was arrested for DUII, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver – Property Damage
