EUGENE, ORE. - Recent incidents at fraternity events and campus housing have raised concerns about student safety. These events, occurring as recently as Nov. 1, have prompted students to reinforce their safety practices during nights out.
"We go with like a big group, and one of us is always pretty, pretty put together to say the least, and we check in a lot with each other throughout the night, and if anyone does have to leave, they have like one or two people with them, and text the group-chat when they get home, how they're doing," said Maya Davies, a student at the University of Oregon.
Despite the accusations, students report generally positive experiences at these parties.
