Reinhardt kicker Alex Hanson was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance in the Eagles’ 56-0 win over Rio Grande on Saturday.
It marked the fourth time Hanson has won the award this season and the sixth time this season a Reinhardt player has taken a weekly award from the conference. Quarterback Taylor Jackson and defensive back Braylon Jones earned Player of the Week honors in Weeks 1 and 3, respectively.
Hanson, a sophomore from Peachtree Ridge High School, accounted for eight points in the Eagles’ victory, going a perfect 8-for-8 on extra point attempts. He also punted twice for an average of 43.5 yards, with a long of 48, while placing one of those punts inside the Rio Grande 20-yard line.
Hanson is 34-for-35 overall on points
