WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Washington County judge rejected the prosecutors' request to move the trial of three deputies accused of Tasing a man to death out of the county, finding there were enough jurors who could fairly hear the case.

Three deputies — Henry Lee Copeland, Michael Howell and Rhett Scott — are accused in the killing of Eurie Martin back in 2017 , who was walking on Deepstep Road when deputies tased him 15 times over 16 minutes. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

After nearly two days of jury selection, the prosecutors filed a motion Tuesday with the judge, saying "It is my judgment that a fair and impartial jury cannot be obtained in Washington County."

Judge H. Gibbs Flanders heard arguments Wednesday morning and issued his opinion that day.
