Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc. on Wednesday reported third-quarter earnings of $231 million, or $1.16 per diluted common share, a 7% dip from the $249 million, or $1.23 a share, posted for the same three months of 2024.
The Warsaw-based orthopedic devices maker also reported net sales of $2.00 billion, an almost 10% increase from the $1.82 billion posted for the quarter ended Sept. 30 of last year.
Among the additional expenses that contributed to the $18.2 million decline in earnings was a $102 million increase – to $811 million – in selling, general and administrative expenses. That budget line includes marketing, advertising, rent, utilities, distribution costs, sales staff commissions, and executive salaries and benefits.
