LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Several volunteers stayed up late Tuesday night to make sure first responders were fed after a UPS cargo plane crashed near Louisville International Airport.
At least 12 people are dead as of Wednesday evening.
Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers prepared more than 300 meals for the brave men and women who responded to the plane crash.
Ron Crow, the disaster relief director, said at 8:18 p.m. Tuesday night, he received the call that help was needed. In a matter of 4 hours, 350 meals were ready to be delivered by the Salvation Army.
“Before midnight, we had 350 hot meals rolling out with Salvation Army," Crow said.
On Wednesday, about 15 volunteers were working to prepare 150 lunches and 150 dinners for first responders.
