COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A leading candidate for South Carolina governor came before a panel of lawmakers at the State House on Wednesday.
Attorney General Alan Wilson answered questions for about two-and-a-half hours from members of a Senate Oversight subcommittee about operations inside his office and some of its most persistent problems.
South Carolina law requires every state agency to be reviewed by the legislative oversight committees at the State House every seven years.
The Attorney General’s Office was among those scheduled to come before the Senate committee during this year’s cycle.
But Wednesday’s hearing drew more attention than most because the agency head is also running for the state’s highest elected office.
