RATHDRUM, Idaho – A house fire on Ballentree Lane led to evacuations on Wednesday evening, according to the Rathdrum Police Department (RPD).
The fire was initially reported around 5 p.m. RPD officials immediately advised residents in the vicinity to stay indoors and urged the public to avoid the area.
By 5:08 p.m., officers had evacuated nearby houses, noting that the blaze was "well underway" upon their arrival.
An update from RPD officials at 5:14 p.m. confirmed that the fire was under control.
