STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A “clipper-type” storm will sweep through New York on Wednesday night, bringing with it some strong winds.
“A lot of the times you see those type of systems in the wintertime, you know, where you have a strong, fast-moving storm that moves — it passes by to our north across the Great Lakes and across maybe upstate New York, northern New York State, northern New England and then off the New England coast and out through the maritimes and that’s exactly what it is, actually strengthening over time as it’s pushing eastward,” Dave Dombek, a senior meteorologist with AccuWeather , explained.
A cold front attached to that storm will pass through the New York City area after about 10 p.m.
