LOUISVILLE, KY (HawaiiNewsNow) - Some Kentucky residents have been finding debris with Hawaii mailing addresses after a Honolulu-bound UPS plane crashed during takeoff Wednesday.

One person found a charred piece of mail destined for Hilo .

Kentucky officials are urging the public not to touch any debris from the crash.

Instead, a website has been created for people to report found mail.

UPS has not released any details about the type of cargo that was on the plane or how many packages may have been destroyed.

According to initial reports, the engine detached from the plane while taking off from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
