WAILUKU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Chantia Kaulia lives at Kahekili Terrace in Wailuku.
Her life improved dramatically when she moved in about two years ago.
“I am grateful for a roof over mine in my ohana’s head. Two years ago, we were homeless, living out of my car and I was seven months pregnant. So, when we got this unit, I was so desperate. I just was like, yes! We’re gonna have a house before Christmas!” Kaulia said.
But her gratitude has now turned into frustration.
“Look at this,” Kaulia says in a video she took last November of her trapped inside her unit.
“All the things unlocked. That knob is not even moving to open. I literally get myself locked in my house because this door I’ve asked them to fix many times,” she says in the video.
