PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A 14-year-old boy was arrested after robbing an 11-year-old at knifepoint in Providence Monday afternoon.
Kristy dosReis, a spokesperson for the Providence Police Department, told 12 News the suspect threatened the victim with a knife after getting off of a school bus at the intersection of Progress and Priscilla avenues.
dosReis said the boy demanded money from the victim and eventually ran off with a small amount of cash. The victim was not injured and ran to the District 5 substation to report the robbery.
Detectives identified the suspect and arrested him on Wednesday at Roger Williams Middle School. dosReis said the suspect had a knife on him at the time of his arrest.
