ORLANDO, Florida — A piece of Titanic history never before seen by the public is now on display in Orlando. TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition unveiled the Black Glass Necklace, one of the rarest items recovered from the ship’s wreck site, marking its first public debut since the liner sank in 1912, RMS Titanic said in a news release issued Wednesday .

The necklace, featuring heart-shaped and octagonal black glass beads, was painstakingly conserved after being found in fragments during a 2000 expedition by RMS Titanic. Experts revealed the artifact during a live demonstration. It also showcased conservation work on “Little Piece,” a two-ton section of the ship’s hull and the second-largest artifact ever recovered, the release says.
