EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (KALB) - Louisiana State Police Troop I reported that Michael Fontenot, 42, of Bunkie was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday, November 2.

Troopers arrived at the scene on Hwy 106, near Lutz Loop, at around 5 p.m. on Sunday. Through their investigation, they determined that Fontenot was driving east on Hwy 106 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the road and flipped.

LSP said Fontenot was not wearing a seatbelt, was fatally injured and died at the scene. Troopers collected toxicology samples for analysis. This investigation is ongoing.
