WINNFIELD, La. (KALB) - A newly updated drone training program is coming to Winn Parish. Northwestern State University will host a two-day course on November 13th and 14th at the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Range in Winnfield. The cost to attend is $250.

The course is led by an instructor with NSU’s Advanced Remote & Geospatial Operations (ARGO) Team and is designed to prepare participants for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Part 107 Remote Pilot Aeronautical Knowledge Test, which must be passed to legally operate drones for commercial use.

Anyone 16 or older can participate, and attendees must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
