SOUTH DEERFIELD — In the days of practice ahead of No. 5 Frontier’s run in the MIAA Division IV state tournament, Redhawks coach Missy Mahar had voiced the importance of a quick start to her team.

Mahar recalled how increasing the tempo of the game and controlling the pace were keys to success that she wanted her team to execute on as they continued their postseason run.
