Ulster Town Board members last week accused supervisor James E. Quigley, 3rd of issuing select information to a media outlet about a budget discussion they felt was intended to deliberately stoke division.

In an article in the Monday, October 27 issue of the Daily Freeman , Quigley addressed ongoing discussions about the town’s 2026 operating budget, claiming town board members were seeking to reinstate their own health insurance at a maximum cost of $135,000, effectively extending coverage to themselves as part-time employees. Town board members, part time employees have received health benefits in the town for the past 30 years.
