Thanksgiving Day is actually the biggest running day of the year, thanks to “Turkey Trots” held all over the country. But if it’s too much to try to squeeze in a 5K between cooking and eating and recovering on the couch, the Turkey Trot Fun Run in Pittsford is taking place a littler earlier at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.

“They’re usually held on Thanksgiving morning but that (can be) a lot for people,” said Pittsford resident Tammi Blanchard, who spearheaded the town’s first annual Turkey Trot last year.
