The Christmas Markets are returning to Manchester City Centre for another year in a matter of weeks - here is everything you need to know before you pop down for a warming mulled wine.

This year the popular wooden chalets are set to return to Albert Square for the first time in six years, as the Town Hall regeneration project has blocked off the square, with a "mini market" and festive fairground which will include a big wheel.

A whopping nine other city centre locations will join Albert Square in what is set to be a bumper year for the Manchester Christmas Markets across the city.

The main markets sites will open from Friday, November 7 and run through to Monday, December 22.
