WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Purdue University campus police are working to learn more about an unusual situation on campus.

Just after noon on Wednesday, officers received a call to the Active Learning Center about a person covered in peanut butter from head to toe.

Concerns arose about the potential danger to those with peanut allergies.

News 18 arrived shortly after, observing an increased police presence and confused students.

Boilermakers reported seeing the man walking around campus.

Cleaning crews were called in to sanitize surfaces coated in peanut butter.

According to officers, it is currently unknown whether the man is a student and if this was or was not a hazing situation.

Efforts are underway with campus police to gather more information.
