An agreement was signed between the renowned Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited (Starlink) and the Information Technology Department of the state government with the aim of providing satellite-based internet services to remote areas of the state. Maharashtra has become the first state in the country to sign an agreement with Elon Musk's company for internet services after it announced the launch of services in the country.
The MoU was signed on Wednesday in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis . Fadnavis expressed confidence that this MoU will make state-of-the-art technology available. The agreement was signed by Starlink Vice President Lauren Dreyer and the government's Secretary of the Department of Information Technology, Virendra Singh.
