Charleston Catholic's volleyball team didn't need any more motivation to know what was on the line Wednesday night against Buffalo -- a trip to the state tournament.
The Irish dialed it in on Wednesday and took down Buffalo, 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-20), in a Class AA Region 4 tournament co-final.
With the victory, Charleston Catholic earned its second consecutive trip to state.
The Irish were the No. 6 seed last year before falling in the state semifinals.
"I'm super excited," Irish sophomore Ali Wilcox said. "Last year, we were the underdogs. This year, I feel like we came together at the right time. I feel like we can win the whole thing."
Charleston Catholic had early momentum in the first set that carried throughout the remainder of the match, which led to the sweep victory.
