On Veterans Day, local municipalities in Dutchess County are holding ceremonies to honor and remember those who sacrificed for their country.

The county's event on Nov. 11 will be hosted by the Dutchess County Office of Veterans Affairs and will include an 11 a.m. ceremony at the Dutchess County War Memorial, located at John K. Rinaldi Memorial Park, at the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Main Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

The ceremony will gather local veterans and residents for a wreath presentation and community prayer. The keynote speaker will be Craig Marshall, a veterans historian and Honor-A-Veteran Committee member, and the Poughkeepsie High School Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program will present the colors.
