If it’s getting pitch dark by 5 p.m., that means one thing — and it’s not stress knowing seasonal depression is coming.

The playoffs have arrived and they’re the medication everyone needs this time of year.

While I’m sad to know that the football season — and my golf year — is over, the energy around playoff football is unmatched. There aren’t many games, and probably should be fewer, but each one is packed with life. What you might think will happen could but what you don’t think will happen usually does.

Traditionally, I’ve enjoyed using this space to promote the idea of a classified postseason, breaking down how it would have looked if everyone could realize that system would reward the communities that value the sport.
