LIHUE — The Housing Agency invites the public to attend a ceremony on Monday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Lihue Civic Center Moikeha Rotunda to proclaim Nov. 16-22 as National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

The observance aims to educate the public, raise awareness about poverty, and recognize the many volunteers and service providers working to support those in need across our community.

“Homelessness on Kauai continues to be a complex challenge that requires the entire community’s support to address,” said Farah Aquino, the Kauai County Housing Agency’s homeless coordinator. “Food insecurity and hunger also affect many of our working-class families.
