The Centre will soon roll out a draft SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) policy for industry consultations, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu told businessline .

In technical parlance, SAF refers to renewable or waste-derived aviation fuel that adheres to sustainability criteria.

“All industry players will be consulted before the policy is officially rolled out,” Naidu told businessline on the sidelines of an industry event here.

“Not just public sector refiners but also private ones will be consulted. Their participation in the SAF ecosystem is important if India is to emerge as a major exporter of SAF.”
