Maharashtra will be the first Indian state to deploy the satellite internet services of Elon Musk's Starlink after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the partnership on Wednesday, November 5.

The state government hosted Starlink's Vice President Lauren Dreyer to sign a Letter of Intent (LOI), which formally makes Maharashtra the first state to collaborate and deploy satellite-based internet services.

The partnership, which would help boost the state's flagship Digital Maharashtra mission, is subject to Starlink’s regulatory and compliance clearances from the Telecom Department.
