A man has been arrested following a fire that broke out last night at a flat in the Baillieston area of Glasgow .

Emergency services were called to deal with the east end blaze that broke out at a second-floor property on Dyke Street, and the road was temporarily closed.

It is understood that fire crews rescued a bird from the building, and no casualties were reported.

The blaze was extinguished by the Fire and Rescue Service, and a 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6pm on Wednesday, 5 November, 2025, we received a report of a fire at a property on Dyke Street, Glasgow.

“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and no injuries have been reported.
