Police have issued a statement after a man was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years for the murder of William Copeland in Hamilton.
William Lewis is to serve a life sentence after pleading guilty to stabbing the 36-year-old man to death in broad daylight last October.
The 56-year-old was also convicted of attempting to murder his victim's disabled father in the same incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Campbell said: “This was a shocking and violent attack which resulted in the death of a young man and another man needing hospital treatment.
“Nothing will bring William Copeland back, but I hope seeing Lewis held to account gives his family some level of comfort. Our thoughts remain with them.
