It will be a windy start to Thursday across Massachusetts, though not quite as windy as National Weather Service forecasters anticipated.
Forecasters had previously issued a Wind Advisory through 8 a.m., warning of gusty northwest winds between 40 and 50 mph. But the weather service opted to cancel that advisory as the risk of hazardous gusts had ended by 6 a.m.
The winds will continue to die down as the day goes on, with a mix of sun and low-level clouds combining with wind blowing cold air into the region. Gusts should range from 25 to 35 mph on Thursday before trailing off by sundown.
Temperatures should remain in the high 40s to mid-50s throughout the day. Boston and Hyannis should make it to 50, while Worcester, Springfield and Pittsfield are all expected to stay in the 40s.
