NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - An apartment fire left some residents without a livable home in the Hermitage area on Thursday morning.

The Nashville Fire Department responded to the MAA Park apartment complex just after 2 a.m. and found one unit on fire.

Firefighters contained the fire to the balcony, according to Nashville Fire personnel.

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.

One man was inside the apartment during the incident. He told Nashville Fire that he smelled smoke and looked outside to see his balcony on fire.

Nashville Fire reported that the resident will be displaced due to the damage, as well as the resident below because of the water used to put out the balcony fire above.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
