HEBRON, Ky. —

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport is among the markets that could see a 10% reduction in air traffic, beginning Friday, according to a list obtained by NBC News.

The Federal Aviation Administration announced the reduction in air traffic on Wednesday , citing staffing shortages among air traffic controllers amid the government shutdown. Advertisement

FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy did not name the affected markets in their announcement Wednesday.

“If the pressures continue to build even after we take these measures," Bedford said, "we’ll come back and take additional measures.”
