A 29-year-old man was killed in a crash on Route 1 in Norwood Wednesday that closed the road for several hours, officials said.
The man’s name was not released pending notification of his next of kin, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey’s office said in a statement.
The driver of a second vehicle, a 47-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening, prosecutors said.
Officials said the crash happened near Prendergast Circle and East Cross Street.
A section of Route 1 was closed in both directions starting around 8 a.m. while State Police conducted an investigation. The highway reopened after 11 a.m., officials said.
Route 1 is now open in both directions as MSP and NPD units are clearing the scene of the accident. Thank you. — Nor
